Claude Lyons adds remote monitoring capability to its PowerSave™ voltage optimisation equipment
At the Sustainability Live! Exhibition in Birmingham, Claude Lyons announced innovations to its PowerSave™ energy management products that allow facilities managers to monitor performance remotely, giving greater control over carbon emissions.
The new remote monitoring capability allows for system status monitoring without the need for additional meters or direct access to the equipment. Settings can be adjusted remotely as well, providing facilities managers with complete control over the equipment from off- as well as on-site.
The new facility also provides for complete integration of PowerSave™ equipment with existing systems, giving facilities managers control via their existing network or BMS system, or remotely via telephone, ISP or GPRS modem; it even offers tailored text messaging. Internal status logs are maintained, detailing prime events such as minimum and maximum voltage, current and power data, with full logging and report generation accomplished via in-house or external data logging facilities.
"This product development is about giving facilities managers more control over their electricity usage," said Jim McIlfatrick, Managing Director of Claude Lyons. "With the ability to monitor the equipment remotely, they can have up-to-the-minute information on their carbon footprint."
Remote monitoring is available as an optional feature on both PowerSave™ product families, the Energy Saving Regulator (ESS) and the Energy Saving Transformer (EST). The remote settings adjustment is solely available as an optional feature on the ESS.
