Hastings Hotel Group celebrates 13% electricity savings with PowerSave voltage optimisation
Europa Hotel in Belfast, part of the Hastings Hotel Group, has achieved a 13% reduction in its electricity consumption since installing a PowerSave ESS. The unit was installed in 2009 using Carbon Trust financing, and one year on the hotel has achieved results that exceeded expectations.
In addition to reducing electricity bills at the site, PowerSave has helped reduce energy consumption in line with legislative requirements and targets. “We qualify to make an information disclosure under the new CRC energy efficiency scheme. Voltage regulation has helped us reduce our emissions and will contribute towards meeting future consumption targets,” said Howard Hastings, Managing Director of Hastings Hotel Group.
Hastings Hotel Group installed the ESS at the Europa Hotel as part of an energy management strategy developed by PowerSave strategic partner Hughes Energy Systems. Due to this success, the Group has installed units at other locations, including at the Slieve Donard Resort & Spa.
